To coordinate and support community initiatives that promote lifelong literacy.
Every person will be literate in Hancock County.
· Since November 2014, our Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library has mailed out more than 74,500 books to children ages zero to five, who live right here in Hancock County.
· Since 2015, we have had over 3,300 Family Literacy Night participants at our local schools, including children and their parents/family members. Over 1,800 books have been distributed to children at our Family Literacy Nights.
· Since November 2017, our Community Books program has given out 1,625 books to over 325 at-risk children through 7 local agencies.
Hancock Literacy is proud to be part of the Literacy Coalition for our community’s Collective Impact initiative. The Literacy Coalition is one of eight community coalitions working together toward identifying and addressing social issues affecting both Findlay and Hancock County.
